Halloween Cupcakes Anyone Can Make
Cupcakes are Perfect for Halloween
Halloween is a great time to get together with friends to celebrate the fall season. Decorating your home in fall colors, making pumpkin pie and trick-or-treating. The way I like to celebrate this special occasion is by throwing a party for my closest friends. I used to serve your typical pumpkin pie for dessert but that's always expected. Instead I thought to myself, why not make cupcakes instead!
Cupcakes are perfect for Halloween for so many reasons. They are compact and can be taken home by your guests. They can be eaten without utensils. You can eat them standing up and talking to someone at the same time! You can also have fun with them! The reasons are many.

Did you know...
Orange and black are Halloween colors because orange represents the fall harvest while black is associated with darkness or death.
A few years back I remember making black cupcakes with a splash of red for extra goriness. This year, I've decided to take a different approach to Halloween and I am sticking to keeping the theme "A chic and stylish Halloween in Tokyo". Yes I should have come up with a better name for my theme but I had better things to do - like making cupcakes!
In this lens, I'm going to share with you two versions of the cupcake. I promise it's really easy to make and you can make both versions from the same batch!
Delicious Halloween Recipes
Let's Get Started!
This is the basic recipe for the Ridiculously-Easy Halloween Cupcakes. It's incredibly easy and can be customized with your own style and creativity. Using a boxed cake mix means no measuring or guesswork involved.
Although I've used a vanilla cake mix, you can use any flavored mix you like. Chocolate and vanilla flavors are popular, but I think I'd like to try using red velvet next time.
The frosting is one of the easiest to make. Just pick your favorite food coloring ( I chose orange ) and start having fun!

Candy Decorating Fun
Here's a great idea to add some fun to your party. Give them the option of adding some extra decoration with various candies that you get at any supermarket. I've used Pocky sticks as I already had a few boxes in my apartment.
I let my guests create whatever they wanted with these sticks. It added an interactive element to party and everyone seemed to enjoy creating their works of art.
There are so many ways to decorate your cupcake with store-bought candy. You can use candy corn, jelly beans, M&M's or whatever you fancy!
