Easy Low-Carb Ice Cream Recipe

Updated on October 3, 2013

We All Scream For Ice Cream

I am a self-proclaimed foodie so watching my weight is imperative and I do that by following my version of a low-carb diet. I also have a passion for sweets and that sometimes makes it difficult to keep my weight in check. Today, I'd like to share with you a simple recipe that's delicious and very easy to make! All you need are a few simple ingredients to make these treats.

This is the easiest way to make low-carb ice cream as far as I know. It usually takes me around 10 minutes to make them not countingthe freezing time. Please remember to check the carb counts on your particular brand of cream as they vary from brand to brand. Also control your portions if you are trying to lose weight. If you are only trying to maintain your weight and are eating low carb most of the time, you have nothing to worry about. I sometimes eat two of these a day and I manage to not gain a single ounce.

Maple and Chocolate and Butterscotch Oh My!

For maple syrup lovers everywhere!

Vanilla ice cream is fabulous but variety makes life all the more interesting. This is definitely important when you're trying to lose some weight. Here are some very simple ways to make your ice cream even yummier!

1. Add about 3 tablespoons of sugar-free maple syrup to the basic recipe for a deliciously simple maple syrup ice cream. Make sure you choose a brand that doesn't taste bitter.

2. Melt half a bar of good quality sugar-free chocolate into the mix for a decadent chocolate ice cream.

3. Add in 1/4 box of sugar-free instant pudding mix into the basic recipe. I like butterscotch for its buttery rich taste.

Add-ins to Create More Deliciousness

Did you know that there are many sugar-free products on the market today? Some of them rival the real thing in taste and texture. In fact, the Guylian milk chocolate bar is so smooth and sweet, I prefer them to Hershey's or even Cadbury. Any of the products below can be mixed into the basic ice cream recipe. You can even choose to use two or three of them at once!

I usually get these at my local import supermarket. They taste so good you only need a little to satisfy your sweet tooth.

It is so easy to make low carb ice cream without an ice cream maker. Just some simple ingredients and voila!

Pour It On

Here are two sugar-free ingredients I usually have in my kitchen. In addition to pouring them onto your low-carb ice cream, you can use it on your favorite low-carb pancakes and waffles as well. Chocolate on waffles? Oh yes please!

My friend bought me two bottles of these recently and this has now become my favorite brand for sugar-free syrups. Goes great in my ice cream as well as on my almond flour pancakes. Yum!
